Local XLSX tools
Convert Excel to JSON
Convert Excel workbooks to JSON online. Choose your sheet, convert multiple files and download each result. No account required.
Convert your workbooks
Add as many files as you need. Up to 128 MiB per file. Keep this tab open until your downloads finish.
Sheet and conversion options
The first sheet is used by default. Options apply when each file starts. Exported values use stored formula results; formatting and workbook features are not included. SQL columns use TEXT by default to preserve identifiers. Choose another type only for cells of that actual type.
Conversion starts as soon as you choose files. Files download automatically when ready. Your browser may ask to allow multiple downloads.
Use worksheet rows as JSON records
Export a stock table as JSON for a script or data workflow.
Set an optional sheet choice before choosing files. Downloads start automatically; use View to inspect a result.
How it works
- Choose optional sheet and conversion settings before choosing files. The first sheet is used by default.
- Choose one or more XLSX workbooks to start converting automatically. Follow each file’s progress.
- Downloads start when ready. Use View for a preview or Add more files to add another batch.
Output and limitations
The export represents selected-sheet data. Workbook formatting and formula expressions are not included.
Keep a copy of your original workbook and review downloaded results before using them.
Frequently asked questions
What becomes a JSON field name?
Worksheet headers become object keys. Review the exact preview to check how blank or repeated headers are represented.
Are formulas recalculated during conversion?
Data exports use stored cell results. To change formulas or check calculations, open the original workbook in the editor, save a copy, then choose that copy here.
Is my workbook uploaded to a server?
The anonymous browser file tools process workbook contents locally. The website still makes ordinary requests for pages and sample files. Read the privacy page for details.
Which Excel files can I open?
Choose XLSX files with a combined size of 128 MiB or less. Legacy XLS files and password-protected or encrypted workbooks are not supported.
