Output and limitations
Formula calculation is partially supported. Unsupported formulas and unsafe changes report diagnostics. Retained workbook parts do not imply that every Excel feature can be edited.

Will my workbook keep its formulas and formatting?
The source editor retains the original XLSX package and supported changes. It preserves unrelated workbook parts, but unsupported features may be retained without being editable.
Does this replace every feature in Excel?
No. The editor supports selected cell, formula and formatting operations. Check diagnostics for unsupported formulas or changes, and review your saved workbook before relying on it.
Is my workbook uploaded to a server?
The anonymous browser file tools process workbook contents locally. The website still makes ordinary requests for pages and sample files. Read the privacy page for details.
Which Excel files can I open?
Choose XLSX files with a combined size of 128 MiB or less. Legacy XLS files and password-protected or encrypted workbooks are not supported.
